A television director is a production specialist who has control over television programming. Television directors typically specialize one specific type of programming such as newscasts, sports programming, reality shows, dramatic serials, or entertainment specials. Responsibilities will vary depending on production location, whether or not the program is live or pre-recorded, and the length of the program. Directors in charge of live broadcasts (such as newscasts, sporting events, or talk shows) must determine the lighting, sound levels, camera angles, and other audio-visual setups.
Directors in charge of pre-recorded or filmed programs must design and edit the final program. The television director reports directly to a producer and must adhere to basic production guidelines.
The following duties may also apply:
supervise pre-production activities; direct programming; edit commercials, public service announcements, promotional segments, and newsbreaks; oversee floor crews; and operate equipment.
Television directors are required to be experts in communication, broadcasting, production, or television arts. Other advantageous skills include: technical skills, creative skills, organizational skills, communication skills, team skills, directing skills, and computer skills
Work and life experience in a related field such as professional level work on a short film, student film, Documentry, radio and television studio or theatre production is considerable.
PRODUCTION MANAGER
Production managers organise the business, finance and employment issues in film and television productions. As a production manager, you would be in charge of how the production budget is spent and making sure that everything runs smoothly during filming.
Before production begins, your work would involve:
meeting the producer and other senior production staff to examine scripts or programme ideas
drawing up a shooting schedule and estimating cost
hiring crews and contractors, and negotiating rates of pay
negotiating costs and approving the booking of resources, equipment and suppliers
overseeing location bookings and arranging any necessary permissions and risk assessments.
During filming, duties include:
making sure that the production runs to schedule, and reporting to the producer on progress
managing the production schedule and budget
managing the production team
dealing with any problems
making sure that insurance, health and safety rules, copyright laws and union agreements are followed.
To join us as a production manager you will need substantial experience in TV or film, in-depth understanding of the production process, and a network of contacts in the industry. Experience and track record is more important than formal qualifications.
PRODUCTION TEAM MANAGER
The Production Team Manager (PTM) assists with the artists and production personnel from pre-production through post production on our Projects. Each PTM is assigned to a specific department or group of departments and will become an integral part of the management structure of that team.
Responsible for the day to day running of the department(s), managing established schedules through production planning, coordination and troubleshooting.
Provides the artist and supervisors with support to enable them to complete their work.
Primary production person within department, supervises and mentors Production Assistants, Production Coordinators or other production personnel within their department.
Assists the Production Manager and Projects in assigning appropriate manpower, workspace and scheduling to ensure completion of respective departments goals.
Will work closely with other PTMs or Asst.PTM to ensure that inventory moves smoothly from one department to the next.
Develops and uses planning systems and ‘work in process’ tracking systems daily.
Creates and maintains reports that clearly illustrate department and individual artist productivity.
Collaborates with Department Heads to crew assignments and issue and monitor deadlines with artists.
Ensures the department Head is following studio review process and delivering timely performance reviews and feedback.
Partners with department Head and production management to manage conflict within the department and partners with human resources regarding disciplinary procedures. Documents issues and provides updates to human resources and senior management.
Represents department in weekly production meetings. Reports department progress and discusses solutions to any issues impeding the department.
Work closely with the department supervisors and Heads to manage, motivate and create an environment to achieve targets and creavtive achievements.
Requirement:
6+ years of production management experience showing career progression, preferably in reality based game show and feature film production.
Ability to work effectively with all levels of management and with diverse personalities and work styles.
Strong organizational, project management and leadership skills.
Exceptional communication skills (written and verbal).
Strong computer skills including MS word, Excel, Outlook and ability to learn proprietary tracking software. Project Management experience preferred.
Capable of working independently and as part of a team.
Ability to establish priorities and multi-task efficiently within a high pressure environment while meeting strict deadlines. Ability to work in a start-up environment that has a certain degree of agreement and achievements. Bachelor’s Degree in film, art, theatre, communications or related field a plus.
PROJECT CO-ORDINATOR
The Project Coordinator works in all of the preliminary planning stages of our projects/events, including communicating with sponsors, Excutive, Govt. authority/officials, Internal staff, and external companies. The Project Coordinator is communicating with high level executives from all of the aforementioned companies on a daily basis, making sure all the requirements are set/fullfill to enable us to carry out production smoothly.
The Project Coordinator also is responsible for planning the meeting schedule for the any project/event, planning the dinners and cocktail parties, arranging entertainment, and collecting materials for the production. The Project Coordinator is onsite for the entire Production, ensuring and facilitating its organization, scheduling, efficiency, and execution. The Project Coordinator must interact with and personally work with all the executives in attendance.
The position requires someone who is incredibly outgoing, ambitious, personable, and organized. The individual needs to be able to communicate with the highest -level business people in the world, as well as facilitate conversation,
The individual will be travelling abroad if required and must be incredibly organized, and be willing to work extra hours when necessary. The individual needs to be innovative, think on their feet, and improvise when necessary.
LOCATION MANAGER
You will be responsible for the finding and securing locations to be used and coordinating the logistics involved for the production to successfully complete its necessary work, you will be also responsible for public relations at the locations used and the safety of the crew during filming, you would be dealing with local issues and with local authority to sucessfully carry out production, you be working very closely with Production Manager and Project co-ordinator.
Ideally you should have very good experience specially working on India based projects with good communication skills, you should be well poised and able to think fast on your feet as you are constantly moving, usually preceding production to a location and overseeing final strike and wrap. you are the first and last person the public sees that represent the production and are responsible for ensuring that the location is returned to the condition in which it was received. You should also to be aware of the possible copyright issues which may be an issue if the show is filmed in a public place where there is art work or similar and where the artist has to give his/her consent to the creation being depicted or covered or replaced by other artwork.
PUBLIC RELATION OFFICER
Public relations officers are concerned with an organisation's reputation. Their task is to build long-lasting relationships by establishing and maintaining mutual understanding and goodwill between an organisation and the public. The work involves providing the outside world with information about the organisation or its products through newspapers, magazines, promotional literature, radio, TV and websites.
An outstanding opportunity for a PR and media expert to join a successful upcoming entertainment company in global market. The role will require proven expertise in two areas - front line communications and back-end data analysis. You'll be able to uncover trends from data and as part of wider communications initiatives, you'll provide analysis, industry comment and insight to the media and digital sectors with media friendly content through interviews, thought-leadership columns and reports.
Building close relations with trade and national media, you'll be a spokesperson for the company, communicating key messages and promoting corporate stories while providing a first class media response service.
